DESCRIPTION:Through this exhibition\, the National Museum of Art of Romania
aims to join a wider approach\, national and international\, to raise pub
lic awareness about the problematic relationship of contemporary man with
the animal world. This will provide an opportunity for reflections on human
interference with the animal kingdom by touching on mythological\, philos
ophical\, emotional aspects with the central idea of the need to reconside
r violent actions on animals. The painter Felix Aftene articulates an artis
tic discourse\, often in the first person\, in representations that includ
e even under fictious identities\, attentive to the implications of treati
ng the animal only as a food source\, accessory of violence in society\, t
rophy\, an ephemeral consumer product\, like so many others\, with the ign
orance and refusal of its condition of expression of the wonder of the liv
ing in its diversity.Such an approach is more than welcome in the conditio
ns of continuous degradation of the natural environment of the planet with
the most dramatic consequences on daily life. An opportunity to meditate
and reconsider our attitude and that of our fellow human beings.&nbsp\;\nF
